The responsibilities of the Pipe Fitters job include assisting pipefitters with the configuration, arrangement, and installation of pipe; knowing pipe fittings, rivets, and valves; preparing pipe and fixtures for lifting and trying to rig; being accustomed to metallic elements; locating and marking metal flexing and cutting routes; cleaning the work area; and replenishing parts and equipment as necessary.
Additional talents needed include working on elevated surfaces and keeping your balance while standing on awkward surfaces like beams and pipelines. You should have experience reading ISOs, exposure to different metals, experience with illustrations, and knowledge of pipe systems, nuts, valves, etc.
